TRAIN-THE-TEACHER PROGRAMME IN HEREFORD
The Train-The-Teacher Bystander Intervention sessions provide an opportunity The Train-The-Teacher Bystander Intervention sessions provide an opportunity to increase subject knowledge around sexual harassment and bystander initiatives in order to deliver the three Bystander Intervention sessions to pupils in key stage 3.
We provide three 45-minute bespoke sessions. The delivery is supported with PowerPoints / handouts and detailed lesson plans with supportive background information,to guide discussions and to provide additional resources should children / parents or carers have additional questions. Case studies in age-appropriate context and language, co-created by young people, will enable discussion of the key themes and application of theory to practice. The sessions will help children and young people understand sexual harassment and the part we can all play in preventing it happening in our schools and wider communities.
The sessions focus on:
• What is meant by sexual harassment
• Recognising common myths and stereotypes about victims and perpetrators
• How to intervene safely if you witness sexual harassment
• How to support victims of sexual harassment
